Freelance, Italian Corpses and Oregon Skeletons

The Living Dead: Corpses of Palermo book arrived the other day and it's much better than I thought it would be! This one is going to be a keeper, I thought I would sell it but now I think I am going to hang onto it for a while.

There is nothing in the world like snuggling up in bed with a cup of hot tea and a good book on dried up corpses.

I am in a frenzy getting this freelance job going. I got all my illustration board sized and cut and ready to go, and already started it last night/early this morning. They added two more, so now the total amount of components for this job is 24 pieces.

So if my updates seem rather dull in the next few weeks, it's because my entire time will be spent working on this one particular job. This is probably one of my most favorite jobs I have had in a long time and I am loving working on it.

The husband bought me this photo at a local yard sale. It came out of one of the oldest houses here and is the owner of that house.

Now what is interesting about this particular house, is that back in the 1890s, someone was working in the basement (remodeling?) when four skeletons came tumbling out of the wall!

At first, there was speculation that the skeletons might have been part of an Indian burial ground but then realized the skeletons were four white men. Hmmmm.

So I look at this photo on my wall and have to wonder, who put those men in the basement wall way back when?

It seems like nearly every house on my street has a strange story of death, murder, ghosts and human bones popping up out of the ground after a good rain.
