Foetal Skeletons, Vampira, Sesqua Valley and an Old Time Flea Circus!

I am back! I had a much-needed mini-vacation (about 3 or so days) and my batteries are recharged once again.

The husband and I went to The Gorge along the Columbia River and Hood River, and had a great time just goofing off, much like the Situationist's dérive. (Click here to read a wonderful and accurate description of what a dérive is.)

I got some really great things in the mail today. One piece of mail was from the Vampira's Attic, which just happened to be an "original grave stone rubbing from the tombstone . . . of . . . "Vampira" Maila Nurmi an Astoria native."

Vampira Tombstone Rubbing

Just too damned cool! I am extremely proud of Vampira having once lived here in Astoria for a shrot time, right down the street. Every time I walk past the apartment building she lived in, I always think of her walking the same sidewalks.

The other wonderful piece of mail was from my longtime friend and collaborator, Wilum Hopfrog Pugmire, Esquire. He sent me his book which I plan to read in bed later today.

Wilum Hopfrog Pugmire's Book

Wilum's Sesqua Valley stories are my absolute favorite stories of his, full of atmosphere and dripping with Lovecraftian mythos.

I am hoping to get to our poster collaboration very soon, I already have four other posters mapped out and ready to pencil, along with Wilum's three. Never enough time.

Sitting on pins and needles waiting for my next two Foetal Skeletons to show up, they did finally. I put them together tonight and put them with the rest of the gang. I wish I had enough money to buy REAL foetal skeletons, but just one single (real) foetal skull is outrageously expensive.

Here they are. I plan to use four of them in framed curio type situations, and will probably keep one for myself.

And for those folks who are anxious about new Foetal Skull dolls, I will be making five more Miss Tattycorn Tappertit dolls but they won't be available until October.

May I present,
Miss Tattycorn Tappertit.

I put up the Marsh's Free Dime Museum page, lots of great photos of one of the last great Dime Museums, located right here in the Pacific Northwest (Longbeach, Washington).

I am good friends with Monsieur Eddie Diijon, who happens to be a Master Tarot Card Reader, Palmist & Crystal Seer. If you have not been to his page, please click here as he is one of the very best Tarot Card readers that I know of working today.

And because he is a man of many talents, Monsieur Eddie Diijon also has His Amazing Trained Flea Circus!

We made a page promoting his amazing Flea Circus, go ahead and click here to see his page. I also found the clip on YouTube of Monsieur Eddie Diijon and his Amazing Flea Circus on David Letterman, which I hope you will enjoy as much as I did.

Coming up, I found more books that I had stashed away and will be posting them on the web site as well as a few more vintage items. I forgot to look in one closet we have and lo and behold, there they were.

Also my scout hunters found me the most wonderful glorious pile of Victorian trade cards, which I will be posting in the Vintage Ephemera section sometime this week along with some incredible Victorian Circus and Wild West posters and scrap.
